Design In the Making

Sorry about the random pauses, in our updating. School work piles up after awhile, and midterms don't really help either. But besides that, we have a new design in the making. Definitely something you guys want to keep your eyes peeled for. We have a little bit of tweaking here and there with the design itself but, for the most part, it should be on shirts soon.

Just so we don't leave you hanging, I'll give you a little hint for the concept of the shirt.

How are we going to tie these two songs together into one idea?

You'll find out soon enough.

DON'T SLEEP.

Spring Fling

To continue from the last entry, the clubbing event hosted by KASA at the Cinespace is going to be on February 27, 2009 (this upcoming Friday). If ou're in need of tickets, please get at me ASAP. Once again, find me on Facebook, search for "John Qudoe Lee." We'l be posted up there with the Million Dollar Babies, and shirts will be on sale! Come out to support your local act and upcoming brand. If you can't come out to the Spring Fling, all is forgiven...as long as you come out and catch us at a different show.

Million Dollar Babies are lined up to open up for Paul Wall on March 20, 2009 at the Knitting Factory.

They're also going to be performing with Lloyd April 10, 2009. More info on the upcoming shows will be given so keep it posted!

Besides that whole deal, I was searching through various blogs, sites, and pages as usual. And I came across a hip-hop duo that deserve to be recognized on a bigger level. They're called U-N-I, I don't know exactly how big they are, but chances are not many people know about them. They hail from Inglewood, California, but they're style is not your typical G-Funk/Gangsta rap. U-N-I shines a light on the wescoast with a more underground approach, embracing the OG's and the roots of hip-hop and making it relevant to today.

If you haven't heard of them, check them out in this video. The track is called Beautiful Day.

Vegas & Kollaboration

So I just got back from Vegas yesterday afternoon, and overall the Magic tradeshow went pretty well. We got to speak to a lot of different people, and check out a grip of streetwear brands and their booths. But having the good memory I have, I forgot to being my camera along on the trip. So I guess all our memories will be kept in our brains.

Anyways, today was Kollaboration, so Mike B, JKid (Million Dollar Babies), and I decided it would be a good chance to hand out our flyers and get the word out. Let me tell you this, handing out these damn things is a lot harder than it looks. I have to admit, I used to walk past a lot of people handing out promotional tid-bits and what not, but now I have a whole different out look for those people. Luckliy most were kind enough to at least take it, but there was a good number of non-friendly people as well. Besides that, I really enjoyed the show. Kaba Modern and Fanny Pack definitely tore it up. YouTube celebrities such as David Choi put on a great show. Comedian, Jo Koy had everyone laughing till heads were dropping. We even had a chance to say a couple words to him after the show. And of course, Boa had a hot performance to finish off the night.

DATE TO SAVE!

February 27, 2009 (next Friday): Million Dollar Babies has a show coming up at the Cinespace. Busy, Busy, Busy.

Sorry for the random pause on the updates. We've been up to a lot of things in the past week. For everybody that attended the Million Dollar Babies show, we thank you. On another note, I'm heading out to Las Vegas tomorrow for the Magic Tradeshow. We're obviously not established enough to set up a booth yet, but Ben (Lucky Lefty from MDB) offered us a chance to go with Gearex (an up and coming shoe company) and we thought we should take it. There, we will be networking, passing out some flyers, and spreading the good word of the Common People to Sin City. I'll post up pictures after my little visit, but we're real excited to be able to go! on that note, peep the flyers...

Believe it or not, even this simple of a flyer, took awhile to produce. I'm picking them up tomorrow and driving out to LV.

By the way, we the new batch of shirts are finally in. So far, we have the "Feds" shirt in the black and gold lettering and also burgandy and white lettering. For the "Dying To Live" we kept the same colorway of white with black print. And as an added bonus, we got another batch of the "COPE" shirts out with different colorways (navy blue with white print and heather grey with purple print). Pictures of these shirts will be up soon, so

DON'T SLEEP.

The Myspace Is Up!

Finally after approximately 3 months the Myspace is up and running. The biggest reason for the delay was the banner. We wanted to have a banner up before we started adding people, and we lagged it a little too hard. But it's up now and that's all that matter yes? And if you haven't noticed already, we found a way to put the banner on our blogspot as well (which was a lot more simple than I thought).

The banner looks fairly simple, but the process was much more complicating on a couple different levels. Phil and I can love the similar concepts, but when it comes down to the details--that's where we butt heads. This happens on all the shirts, graphics, ideas, pretty much everything. However, we stick it out until we reach a compromise and bring you a product we're both proud of. So for those of you that don't know already--that's me (Qudoe) on the left side and Phil on the right.

Anyways...

If you haven't already been added, add us today!!!

Until next time.
